snow storm safety

At Haffner’s, keeping homes warm is a responsibility we take seriously. Just as important, Safety is one of our core values, and we’re committed to sharing practical guidance to help protect what matters most: your family, your home, and your peace of mind.
Below are a few storm-readiness tips and delivery recommendations to consider ahead of the weather:
Storm Safety & Home Preparedness:
· Plan for possible power outages. Have flashlights, extra batteries, blankets, and a supply of non-perishable food and water on hand. Winter storms can lead to extended outages and loss of heat.
· Keep furnace vents and exhaust pipes clear. After snowfall, check that vents and exhaust pipes are free of snow and ice to help prevent carbon monoxide buildup—especially for high-efficiency systems that vent near ground level.
· Protect your plumbing. Insulate exposed pipes and familiarize yourself with safe ways to thaw frozen pipes to reduce the risk of bursts and water damage.
· Stay off the roads when you can. During severe conditions, the safest option is often to remain indoors and limit travel unless necessary.
· Dress for extreme cold. Wear layers and cover exposed skin to help prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Seniors and those with medical conditions may be more vulnerable in prolonged cold.
Help Us Deliver to you safely:
· Clear access for our drivers. If possible, please ensure your driveway is plowed and a safe, well-cleared path is available to the tank and fill area. This helps our drivers deliver safely and without delay.
· Secure pets and unlock gates. Prior to delivery, please secure pets and make sure any gates are unlocked so our drivers can safely access the tank.
· Make enclosed areas accessible. If your tank is behind a fence or enclosure, please help ensure the area is reachable and free of snow and ice so we can complete your delivery safely and efficiently.
We’re here for you during the storm and please keep checking back for more updates. Thank you for trusting Haffner’s—and for helping us keep everyone safe.
